This week, our class worked on simple, progressive, and Perfect tenses. Personally, I sometimes struggle with this, but I actually understood what was going on. Verb forms indicate tense, or the time of action. Simple tense has past present, and future. Progressive tense has auxiliary verb "be" and present participle. An example for present progressive is, Alyssa is studying Italian. An example for past progressive is, Alyssa was studying Italian. Finally, an example for future progressive is, Alyssa will be studying Italian. Now come perfect tenses. Perfect tenses include have and past participle. An example for present tense is, I have read the book on Venice. An example for past perfect is I have read the book before my trip. Finally, an example for future perfect is I will have read the book before I leave. In perfect tenses, the passive voice is formed by inserting been. The progressive forms of perfect tenses indicate ongoing actions. An example is, I have been planning for months. Our class also learned Indicative, imperative, and emphatic moods. Verb forms are also indicative mood. The four moods are subjunctive. Indicative mood is stating a fact or asking a question. An example is, We are working on a project together. Another example is, Have you ever painted a t-shirt? Imperative mood is giving commands. An example is, Plan your design carefully. For a negative tone, add don't. Emphatic mood is giving force or emphasis to a simple present or past tense verb. Make sure to add do or does. An example is I do like our idea. These two lessons are very interesting and they seemed very interesting.

On May twenty-fourth, Donald Trump will visit the Pope at the Vatican. The Vatican announced today that Donald Trump will visit him. He will also talk with other members as well. During his visit there, he will go to Israel and Saudi Arabia. After going there, he will attend a meeting in Brussels. According to catholic agency news, the pope and the president haven't always been getting along. In February, the pope said that those who build wall aren't Christian. A week later, Donald Trump said the pope is a “pawn” for the Mexican government and “a very political person” who does not understand what the United States is going through. I feel like that it is good that the Pope and the President are going to meet. There are many issues going on right now. The President can fill the Pope in about the problems in the United States and the Pope can offer his advice. Besides, as Catholics, when we go into politics, we have to do the right thing. For example, if we’re talking about abortion, the catholic view would be that it’s against what we believe. Donald Trump is against abortion and as Catholics we don’t believe in it. Maybe if they work together, they might come up with something to stop a certain problem. God knows why these things happen. You never know, it might be the start of something amazing. Maybe the Pope meeting the President will help the United States and the world. |
